Digital Learning Logs - Paul Szymendera
1/30/17 - 2/27/17
5 Credit Hours
Differentiated instruction is one of those phrases that everyone in education knows and most teachers strive to implement, but it frequently falls between the cracks in the mad dash to cover content. A differentiated learning log supports differentiated instruction because it starts where all individualized instruction must start: with the learner. Furthermore, each student must take ownership of his own learning - and his own log- which will serve different purposes as students learn how to organize the many variables of content in ways that work for them.
Learn how to implement strategies so students can document Bell Ringer prompts, Notice/Think/Wonder responses, Hot-Button Talk Backs, Exit-Enter-Middle of Class Quick Jots and more.
This online course will utilize Schoology and participants will be expected to participate in group discussions, provide evidence of implemented strategies and/or techniques, share reflections, and complete benchmark surveys and/or appraisals.

Infographics - Brent Peterson
1/30/17 - 2/27/17
5 Credit Hours
People remember 10% of what they HEAR, 20% of what they READ, and 80% of what they SEE and DO. What does this tell us as educators? Infographics can have a place in our classrooms. Using infographics in classrooms can help students understand content better. Having students create their own infographics forces them to have a great understanding of the content that they learned, boil it down into the most important information, and determine how to present it to others in an easily digestible format.
This online course will use Schoology and Canva to help students evaluate and create infographics. Participants will be expected to participate in group discussions, provide evidence of implemented strategies and/or techniques, share reflections, and complete benchmark surveys and/or appraisals.
