The Teacher Center is committed to creating a culture of on-going professional development in the area of technology integration. Throughout the school year, please consider attending a "Tech Tuesday" class addressing topics that you will find useful as you integrate techology into your classroom.

As you begin to integrate technology, you may find it overwhelming with virtually an "app" for every thing. So, the natural question is which app to use and when. Teacher Center directors from Sweet Home and Williamsville have created a website to accompany their workshop "Effectech" that has been sponsored multiple times throughout the region.
Using Silver and Strong's, "The Thoughtful Classroom: Teacher Effectiveness Framework," the directors are able sort and catelog commonly used apps so teachers can connect various stages of a unit with technology.

NEW ONLINE COURSES!
Problem: Time is tight. The most valuable resource that people have is time. If the number of participants attending after-school PD classes were the only measure of success, we’d be failing. Over 300 teachers, PD class sizes for less than 10 per session.
4:00-6:00pm is a narrow time slot that does not extend itself well to masses. Too often people can’t make it, have to leave early, or their attention is divided because of a multitude of factors that can distract from the class.
Solution: Offer PD at a time when the participant can attend, be engaged and undivided.
Mode: Schoology. Now that Sweet Home has the means to offer content interactively through LMS: Schoology, participants can still engage in thoughtful discussion asynchronously.
